Production Supervisor – Automotive Manufacturing (m/f/d) – Jülich

Your mission

  • Take overall responsibility for all production operations within the automotive manufacturing workshop.
  • Oversee the department’s production output, quality, costs, delivery performance, safety and overall team management.
  • Draw up comprehensive daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
  • Allocate production resources effectively to ensure on-time order delivery and stable production capacity.
  • Establish and optimize standardized production workflows within the workshop.
  • Implement the IATF 16949 quality management system, ESD control requirements and applicable automotive industry standards.
  • Continuously improve product yield and production stability.
  • Lead the cross-departmental resolution of production abnormalities.
  • Conduct systematic analyses of recurring defects, production-line downtime and quality deviations.
  • Perform root-cause analyses and ensure the implementation and completion of permanent corrective actions using 8D and PDCA methodologies.
  • Fully implement the lean production system across the workshop.
  • Drive targeted improvement initiatives in the areas of 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), continuous improvement, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), line balancing, cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Manage multiple production lines and shift teams, including employee training, performance appraisals, workforce optimization and multicultural team building.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, supply chain, procurement and clients to ensure stable new product launches, production ramp-ups and series production.
  • Prepare monthly production KPI analysis reports and review production issues.
  • Develop medium- and long-term plans for optimizing production.
  • Ensure strict compliance with German labour law, occupational health and safety regulations and the factory’s environmental management standards.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electronics, industrial engineering, automotive engineering or a related discipline.
  • More than five years of professional experience in automotive electronics or automotive component manufacturing.
  • At least three years of management experience at manufacturing supervisor level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the entire series-production cycle for automotive products.
  • Experience managing a complete production workshop at a Tier 1 automotive supplier is considered a strong advantage.
  • Advanced knowledge of the IATF 16949 quality management system and lean production tools.
  • Strong capabilities in production data analysis and KPI management.
  • Familiarity with SAP and MES systems.
  • Ability to manage end-to-end production workshop processes.
  • Outstanding planning, problem-solving and on-site emergency-response capabilities.
  • Proven experience managing multinational teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.
  • Fluent English for daily business communication, meetings and client presentations.
  • German language skills at B2 level are considered an advantage.
  • Rigorous, composed and highly responsible working style.
  • Ability to handle the pressure associated with the overall management of an entire production workshop.
